Small art college in Portland, Maine. Great Early College program for Juniors and Sr's. Fully accredited.
Don't underestimate Orono.  Fabulous new facilities have been built in the last couple of years, with more planned over the next two or three. It now has a New Media major for those interested in digital media.   One of the best Art Education (art teacher) programs in the state.
Small art college in Beverly, MA.  Privately funded, founded in the 1960's.  Supportive of student needs.
Great place to start and see if the arts are for you. They have a solid BA in Studio art, and a good photo program.  It also boasts the only Architecture program in the state.  No dorms, but you can keep costs low and commute from home.
The only state funded art school in the nation. Very competitive, but FABULOUS programs. Has a reciprocal agreement with Maine : if you want to major in a program that UMaine doesn't have (ie: industrial design, glass blowing, etc) you get to go for the IN STATE rate. . .if you can get in.
Good solid art program in Portland and Gorham. Also boasts an agreement with Maine College of Art where you can take courses at MECA for USM prices.   BA and BFA in Studio Art available.  One of the  best Art Education (art teacher) programs in the state
